Driver delivering rice dead as truck careens off road in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY—A truck driver was dead and three others were injured in a road crash in the town of Dimlao, Bohol province on Friday the 13th.

SSgt. Anselmo Nayve, of the Dimlao police, said the driver, Junnel Cutanda Casino, 30, of Ubay town, Bohol, lost control of his truck, causing it to fall on its side around 10 a.m.

Casino died instantly due to severe injuries he suffered when he was pinned down to the driver’s seat.

A truck helper, Eldie Gino Alingig, 33, also of Ubay, was injured.

Outside the truck, injured were Raymond Salva, a security guard and Rene Dealagdon, who were riding a motorcycle when they were hit by sacks of rice that flew off when the truck fell on its side.

The injured were brought to hospital in the town of Jagna.

The truck was loaded with sacks of rice and was headed to Tagbilaran from Ubay.
