4 drug suspects arrested in separate operations in Quezon

LUCENA CITY—Police arrested four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations here and in Tayabas City on Friday, according to officials.

Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said anti-narcotics agents arrested Jonas Punzalan, 23, after the suspect sold a pack of shabu, or crystal meth, to an undercover police officer at the village of Ibabang Dupay around 9:30 a.m.

Albacea yielded eight sachets of meth.

Earlier, policemen also arrested Emiliano Delos Santos, 39, in another drug sting at the coastal village of Dalahican. Authorities seized five sachets of meth from the suspect.

Albacea and Delos Santos are on the police’s list of drug suspects, according to Albacea.

A report by the provincial police also said an anti-narcotics team arrested Carlo Amarillo, 32, and his associate, Rodel Zarzuelo, 39, in a buy-bust operation in Tayabas City past midnight on Friday.

At least five sachets of meth were seized from the two suspects. Police said Zarsuelo was facing a previous drug case.
