MANILA, Philippines — Power supply in areas serviced by Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and affected by Typhoon Ulysses may be fully restored by Sunday, Nov. 15, the Department of Energy (DOE) said Friday.
“Dito naman po sa Metro Manila, ang franchise area po ng Meralco kasama na po ang Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, ang target date po natin dito at lahat na ma-restore lahat ng power is November 15,” DOE Secretary Alfonso Cusi said in an online briefing with other key government officials.

On Thursday, some 2.95 million households lost their power supply after Typhoon Ulysses pounded Metro Manila and Southern Luzon.
As of 6 a.m. Friday, Meralco reported that it has restored power to over 2.45 million households.
Meralco, in an advisory, said power has yet to be restored in parts of Bulacan, Cavite, Marikina City and Quezon City.
