MANILA, Philippines — Some customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. will experience water interruptions on Thursday after the turbidity level of raw water increased due to heavy rains following the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, the concessionaire said.

In a statement on Thursday, Maynilad said water interruptions have started as early as 7 a.m. since the concessionaire had to cut down the production of its water treatment plants.

(The turbidity level of raw water in Ipo Dam has increased due to the heavy rains brought about by Typhoon Ulysses. To ensure that the quality of water will be fine, we had to cut down the production of our water treatment plants.)

(Because of this, some customers will experience water interruptions starting 7 a.m. today.)

Maynilad said it is monitoring the quality of raw water in Ipo Dam.

“Kapag nag-improve na ito, agad naming ibabalik sa normal ang water service sa mga maaapektuhang lugar,” it said.

(Once the water quality improves, we will resume normal water services in affected areas.)

Once service resumes, Maynilad told customers to allow water to run through until the water is clear.
