MANILA, Philippines — The operations of the Metro Rail Transit-3, Light Rail Transit-1, Light Rail Transit-2, and Philippine National Railways have been suspended on Thursday as Typhoon Ulysses continues to ravage parts of Luzon, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
“Railway operations of MRT-3, LRT-1, LRT-2 and PNR are suspended today, 12 November, until further notice, due to Typhoon #UlyssesPH,” the DOTr said in its 6 a.m. advisory.
“We will advise resumption of railway operations once all systems checks are done and cleared,” it added.
Government weather specialists earlier warned that Typhoon Ulysses will bring destructive winds and heavy to intense rainfall over central and southern portions of Aurora, the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, and Rizal within the next three hours.
Ulysses continues to strengthen after making its third landfall over Quezon province this early morning.
