MANILA, Philippines — Over 816 more traditional jeepneys will be allowed to ply the roads in Metro Manila starting Nov. 11 after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) opened 16 new routes.
LTFRB said Wednesday that under Memorandum Circular (MC) 2020-071, the following routes will be opened starting Nov. 11:
T276 Edsa/Shaw Blvd – E. Rodriguez (Brgy. Ugong), Vargas Ave.
T277 Edsa/Shaw Blvd – E. Rodriguez /Ortigas Ave.
T278 Edsa/Shaw Blvd – E.R. Ort via Shaw Blvd
T279 Edsa/Shaw Central – Pateros
T3180 Dapitan- Libertad via Mabini
T3181 Dapitan- Pasay Rtda via L. Guinto
T3182 Del Pan – Guadalupe
T3183 Divisoria – Pasay Rtda via L. Guinto
T3184 Divisoria – Punta via Sta. Mesa
T3185 Libertad – QI via L. Guinto
T3186 Malanday – Pier South
T3187 Proj. 2&3 – Remedios via E. Rodriguez
T440 Filinvest City Located at Alabang, Muntinlupa
T441 Kabihasnan – Sucat
T442 Nichols – SM Mall of Asia via Macapagal Ave

LTFRB said roadworthy jeepneys that have valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) or application for extension of validity are allowed to travel.
In addition, all units must be registered to the Personal Passenger Insurance Policy.
Operators must also attach a short bond paper on their jeep containing a QR code as a substitute for special permits. The code is available on the website of LTFRB.
The agency also reminds passengers and operators that no fare hike is implemented unless otherwise stated by the LTFRB.
The LTFRB also reminds operators to strictly follow the rules and regulations of the agency as stipulated in the MC. Failure to do so may result in fines or removal of documents TPUJ units need to travel.
The agency also encourages everyone who will ride the jeepneys to follow the “7 commandments” as recommended by medical experts which are the following:
1) Laging magsuot ng face mask at face shield;
2) Bawal magsalita at makipag-usap sa telepono;
3) Bawal kumain;
4) Laging panatilihin ang maayos at sapat na ventilation sa mga PUV;
5) Laging magsagawa ng disinfection;
6) Bawal sumakay ang mga pasaherong mayroong sintomas ng COVID-19 sa pampublikong transportasyon; at
7) Laging sundan ang panuntunan sa physical distancing (“one-seat apart” rule)
