MANILA, Philippines— Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) personnel stationed at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City were ordered to evacuate after a “free-for-all” scuffle erupted inside its Maximum Security Compound.
In a statement, BuCor said police SWAT and SAF teams as well as personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection have been deployed to the area.
“BuCor personnel who were at the offices during the incident were ordered to evacuate to the National Headquarters immediately to ensure that no injuries will be inflicted to them,” read the statement.
The riot broke out at around 8 a.m.
