2,092 new infections logged; COVID-19 active cases rebound above 34,000

MANILA, Philippines — The confirmation of 2,092 new virus infections has propelled COVID-19 active cases in the country back to more than 34,000 as of Friday.

Based on the latest reporting of the Department of Health (DOH), the Philippines now has a total of 391,809 cases of the new coronavirus disease, including 34,374 active cases.

DOH also said 462 more patients recovered from the disease while 52 others died, driving sum recoveries to 349,974 and the death toll to 7,461.

The health agency likewise reported that of the 25,900 tests conducted on Thursday, November 5, some 1,714 tested positive – mostly coming from Davao City (129), Quezon City (100), Quezon province (83), Northern Samar (82), and Cavite (80).
