MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Camilo Cascolan on Friday said he is willing to accept a new post in the government after his mandatory retirement. later this month.
“Of course, I am always here for the President,” he told reporters in an ambush interview at Camp Crame, Quezon City when asked if he is open to accept a new position in the government after his two-month stint as PNP chief.
Asked about his possible extension in the PNP leadership, Cascolan said: “Wala po. My birthday is on November 10, but of course as a true soldier, we always do our job. Tayo ay gumagawa ng trabaho up to the time that we will retire.”

Cascolan, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Sinagtala Class of 1986, officially assumed the top PNP post on Sept. 2 after the retirement of then PNP chief General Archie Gamboa.
