Alleged leader of gun-for-hire syndicate slain in Bulacan
CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan –– Police killed an alleged leader of a notorious gun-for-hire syndicate during an entrapment operation on Wednesday in Pandi town.
Police Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, identified the slain suspect as Wilfredo Togonan alias “Willy.” Togonan’s companion identified as Michael Pegaro was also killed in the operation.
Togonan’s group was also involved in the illicit trade of firearms, police said.
Cajipe said the two men fired shots at an undercover agent, who was disguised as a buyer of a firearm.
Responding policemen shot back and killed the two suspects.
Seized from the suspects were .45- and .38-caliber revolvers and ammunition, and the P1,500 marked money.
