35 more Army trainees in Bohol test positive for COVID-19

TAGBILARAN CITY — At least 35 more Army trainees in Bohol have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesperson of the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force.

The trainees stayed at the Training and Doctrine Command of the Philippine Army at Camp Lino I. Chatto in Barangay Macaas, Tubigon town, Lopez said.

The 35 trainees may have been infected by nine other trainees who were considered authorized persons outside their residence, he added.

He said the trainees showed no symptoms of COVID-19 while being isolated at the town’s facilities.

As of Wednesday, Bohol had 559 COVID-19 cases, including 127 active, 421 recoveries, and 11 deaths.

The virus had infected at least 53 Army trainees in Bohol since the pandemic started.
