BOC surrenders seized video, electronic devices

/ 05:10 AM November 05, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has turned over to the Optical Media Board 30 boxes of video tapes and thousands of one-time password (OTP) devices as well as blank SIM and bank cards imported from China and Hong Kong.

The contraband, particularly the SIM cards and blank bank cards, came from Hong Kong and China and “were concealed inside vacuum cleaners and speakers.”

Alert Clark port personnel detected the items and seized them for violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998.
