Liquor ban lifted in Dagupan City
DAGUPAN CITY –– The city government lifted the liquor ban effective Tuesday but was still subject to strict compliance with minimum health standards.
Mayor Brian Lim issued an executive order allowing the selling and public consumption of alcoholic beverages in the city, saying it was meant to balance the health situation with the local economic status.
Lim said the continuous liquor ban would render employees of companies manufacturing alcoholic drinks jobless.
He said cases of the coronavirus disease in the city have been controlled, and they could now start easing restrictions to benefit the economy.
The mayor said the city government would order the immediate closure of establishments that would violate the prescribed health protocols.
He said the city government would again impose strict quarantine measures if there would be a significant or alarming number of COVID-19 cases, or if residents would violate public health standards.
