Mudflow, floods submerge villages in Albay towns after Rolly hits Bicol region

LEGAZPI CITY — Villages were submerged in floodwaters while a bridge was destroyed in Albay towns hours after Super Typhoon “Rolly” (international name: Goni) hit the Bicol region early Sunday.

In Daraga town, the Kilicao Bridge that connects the villages of Kilicao and Binitayan was destroyed due to a swollen river.

Mudflow also triggered by a swollen Ilawod river affected the villages of Gapo, Tinago, Ilawod and Tagaytay in Camalig town.

Mayor Joseling Aguas of Sto. Domingo town said the overflowing Telegrapo river in the village of Lidong rendered roads to first district of the province impassable.
