2 dead in shoot-out

BIÑAN CITY—Two unidentified men were killed in a shoot-out with police in Biñan City before dawn on Friday.

The incident happened after the two men aboard a motorcycle sped through a checkpoint of the  Highway Patrol Group  (HPG) along the national highway in Barangay Halang, said Calabarzon HPG chief Senior Supt. Arnel Escobal.

Escobal said the police were chasing the motorcycle and had reached Barangay San Francisco, also in the city, when the suspects fired the first shot, hitting the patrol car.

Both suspects died of several bullet wounds when the police fired back, according to Escobal. Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon
