CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –– Retired Court of Appeals Justice Normandie Pizarro has continued to be missing since his car was found abandoned along a road in San Simon, Pampanga on Oct. 24, the police said.
A team from the crime laboratory in Camp Olivas here has lifted samples of dried liquid stains in Pizarro’s black Honda Accord on Thursday, according to Col. Andres Simbajon Jr., Pampanga police director.
Simbajon said they took the samples at the request of the San Simon police after the family of Pizarro reported him missing.
He said the National Bureau of Investigation was doing a parallel investigation on the alleged disappearance.
Reports said Pizarro was last seen at a casino in Clark Freeport, 20 kilometers north of this Pampanga capital.
Pizarro had issued the decision to free former Palawan governor Joel Reyes, who was accused of murder.
He penned the ruling that acquitted Janet Lim Napoles in her case of serious illegal detention in May 2017.
Pizarro also wrote the ruling that nullified a Hawaii court decision that granted $2 billion worth of damages to victims of the Martial Law period.
He retired in early 2019. INQ
