MANILA, Philippines — Airline passengers must download the contact tracing app, TRAZE, starting Nov. 28. before entering the airport.
In an advisory on Thursday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said airline passengers should likewise register an account in the contact tracing app.
Here are the steps on how to register an account:
-Download the TRAZE app and install in phone
-Open the app and click the “Register” button. Register as “Individual.”
-Follow the instructions indicated in the app and put the needed information
-Activate account.
CAAP said those without mobile phones or any other mobile gadgets may go to the Malasakit Helpdesk at the airport where they will be assisted in getting a unique QR code.
They may also ask a family member to register them with the app. The QR code can be used at any DOTr Office nationwide.
TRAZE is a nationwide and unified contact tracing app that enables the government’s contact tracing efforts to be strengthened and be more efficient.
The Department of Transportation, on Oct. 28, conducted a soft launch of the contact tracing app in four airports, namely at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and at the Davao International Airport.
