Pagasa is currently monitoring a tropical depression located at the east of Central Luzon, which is moving slowly toward west-northwest.

It said the weather disturbance could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility Thursday morning or afternoon.

It could intensify into a tropical storm within 24 hours, the weather bureau said.

Pagasa said the tropical depression, which will be named “Rolly” once it enters PAR, is currently not affecting the weather over any portion of the country.

“It will continue to intensify while moving over the Philippine Sea and may reach typhoon category prior to landfall,” the weather bureau said.
