TAGBILARAN CITY –– The public market in Sierra Bullones town in Bohol was closed to the public starting Monday for disinfection after the municipality recorded 14 fresh cases of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in one day.
Froilan Halina administrator of the Sierra Bullones Public Market, said at least 100 vendors and stall owners, including those from other towns of Pilar, Carmen, Talibon, and Mabini, were affected.
“As of now, we advised them not to sell their goods to prevent mass gathering at the market,” said Halina in a phone interview.
An intensive contact tracing was quickly done to prevent the spread of the disease.
“The operation of the public market will resume once the safety protocols are done,” Halina said.
At present, Sierra Bullones has 26 COVID-19 cases.
