WALANG PASOK: Class suspensions on Oct. 26 due to Typhoon Quinta

Walang Pasok: Class suspension for Friday, Nov. 15

MANILA, Philippines — Classes were suspended by more local government units on Monday as Typhoon Quinta pounded more parts of the country.

Mayor Lenlen Oreta of Malabon City suspended classes in all levels in both public and private schools “due to the heavy rains” brought about by the typhoon that “may lead to power interruption and internet connectivity issues.”

The following areas suspended classes due to Typhoon Quinta:

Metro Manila

Pasay City – all levels, public and private

Quezon City – from kindergarten to senior high school

Mandaluyong City – all levels, public and private

Malabon City – all levels, public and private

City of Manila – all levels, public and private

San Juan City – all levels, public and private

Caloocan City – all levels, public and private

Taguig City – all levels, public and private

Laguna – all levels, public and private

Camarines Sur – classes in all levels

Naga City – classes in all levels

Albay – classes in all levels

Sorsogon – classes in all levels (until Tuesday, Oct. 27)

Cavite – classes in all levels

Batangas – classes in all levels

Lucena City – classes in all levels

Bataan – classes in all levels

 

Quinta was last spotted in the vicinity of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro and is moving west at 25 kilometers per hour (kph), according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

It has a maximum sustained winds of 125 kph near the center and a gustiness of up to 180 kph.

The typhoon is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility Tuesday morning.
