4 rescued as boat capsizes in Cagayan river

CITY OF ILAGAN—Four people were rescued when their small capsized while cruising the swollen Cagayan river in Barangay Lullutan in this city on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Francisco Estabillo, Ilagan city disaster risk-reduction management officer, said four people were rescued from the boat that turned on its side as heavy rainfall was being experienced in the province.

The boat passengers were taken to the rural health office for a medical check-up.

Authorities have issued a warning against fishing and sailing in Isabela province in anticipation of Tropical Storm “Quinta.”
