Over 600 passengers marooned at Bicol seaports due to ‘Quinta’

quinta severe tropical storm LEGAZPI CITY — More than 600 passengers are stranded in sea ports in the Bicol region on Sunday due to the threat of Severe Tropical Storm Quinta. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Bicol reported that  as of 12 noon, 127 passengers in Albay, 31 in Masbate and 519 in Sorsogon ports remain stranded after the cancellation of ferry trips due to heavy rains and strong winds. At least 302 rolling cargoes, 37 fishing vessels and 2 motor boats were also marooned at various ports. All vessels were advised not to set sail since Saturday afternoon as “Quinta” approached the Bicol region.
