MANILA, Philippines — The Visayas and Mindanao region will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to a diffused tail-end of a cold front affecting Visayas and Northern Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Friday.
Meanwhile, the eastern sections of Luzon will have mostly cloudy skies with rains and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, it added.
The forecast also said that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast would prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas would be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be moderate coming from the east and northeast with moderate seas.
Strong to gale force winds associated with the Northeast Monsoon is expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, the state weather bureau said.
Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves, it also said.
