MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Manila has adopted shorter curfew hours effective Monday night until the end of the year.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso signed on Monday Ordinance No. 8962 which imposes curfew hours from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. until Nov. 30, and 12 a.m. to 3 a.m. starting Dec. 1.
In a virtual briefing, Domagoso said curfew hours were eased based on “approved proposals of the Economic Development Cluster on the gradual expansion of business operations to stimulate and sustain economic gains.”
“Despite the gradual relaxation of curfew hours, quarantine and social distancing protocols within the City of Manila will remain to be enforced in accordance with the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) guidelines,” he said.
Minors are not covered by the shortened curfew hours. The ordinance will take effect immediately.
