Town council’s office in Zambales closed after employee shows COVID-19 symptoms

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– A female employee of the municipal hall here has exhibited symptoms of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), forcing local officials to temporarily close one of its offices.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the 40-year-old government worker assigned at the municipal council was found to be reactive after a rapid test for COVID-19.

“She has a fever and colds. She is now isolated in President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital while awaiting the result of her swab test,” Bueno told the Inquirer.

The temporary closure of the council’s office was to allow disinfection in the area.

The province recorded a total of 537 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 499 recoveries and three deaths as of Friday.
