LTFRB to soon reopen Metro Manila-Davao City bus route

MANILA, Philippines — Land travel will soon be easier from Metro Manila and Davao City, or vice versa, as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is set to reopen a bus route linking the two cities.

In an online Palace briefing, LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra said the local government unit of Davao City already agreed to reopen this inter-regional bus route.

“In fact, if I may say, magpapalabas na po tayo din this week ng another set of inter-regional routes going into Metro Manila coming all the way from Davao City,” Delgra said.

“Pinayagan na rin po ni Mayor Sara [Duterte] ang pagbubukas ng Davao City by way of land trips from Davao City to Metro Manila,” he added.

Delgra said provincial bus routes linking Metro Manila and Mabalacat, Pampanga also recently reopened.

The LTFRB earlier allowed 286 buses to resume operations in 12 provincial routes from Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

Meanwhile, Delgra said 69 percent of public utility vehicles already resumed operations in Metro Manila.
