Manila gets DILG seal of good finance housekeeping

MANILA, Philippines — For the first time in 10 years, the local government of Manila has finally passed the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) good financial housekeeping (GFH) standards.

A GFH recognition meant the local government unit has spent and audited its public funds completely and with full transparency.

Manila Mayor Francsico “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the recognition from the DILG showed that “the Manila City government has proven itself to be financially transparent” and that it was able to “spend its funds wisely for the previous year.”

This is Manila’s first good financial housekeeping recognition.
