MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake rocked Surigao del Norte early Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake struck at 5:07 a.m. at 23 kilometers northeast of General Luna town.
The tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a 17-kilometer depth of focus.
No aftershock or damage was expected from the earthquake, Phivolcs said.
