MANILA, Philippines — All operations are suspended at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised a lightning red alert warning on Monday afternoon.
In an advisory, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the weather bureau issued the red lightning alert at 2:40 p.m.
The alert is a safety measure aimed at preventing any untoward incident from happening when lightning flashes are prevalent in the immediate area.
