Travel curbs on Filipinos with foreign partners eased

MANILA, Philippines — The government has “approved in principle” the relaxation of outbound travel restrictions on Filipinos wishing to reunite with their foreign partners.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has relented to the pleas of “long-distance relationship” couples kept apart by the pandemic.

“We’re just ironing out a few details. Everything must be coordinated, the testing, airport, Bureau of Immigration, Department of Foreign Affairs, to our airlines. We’re just arranging for all of those. But in principle, we in the IATF are okay with it,” said Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles. “We will be issuing a resolution on this soon.”
