PH, China OK fast lane for Chinese nationals
MANILA, Philippines — While the entry of foreigners remains restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippines will facilitate the entry of Chinese nationals involved in select industries.
During his weekend official visit to China, Locsin and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed to set up a “fast lane for urgently needed personnel exchanges.”
The fast lane will “facilitate, with due safeguards, the movement of essential official exchanges and travel by personnel in crucial industries such as business and trade, infrastructure, logistics, production and technical services,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Since March, foreigners have been barred from the Philippines except for diplomats and immediate family of Filipinos since COVID-19 pandemic broke out in China in December last year.
