Polygraph tests to be sent to fiscals

RESULTS of the polygraph or lie detector tests done on the security guards, maintenance personnel and staffers and officials of the Sinulog Foundation Inc. will be sent directly to the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.

Senior Supt. Meolvin Ramon Buenafe, Cebu City police chief, said since the case has been forwarded to that office, they will transmit the test results there and not disclose it to local media.

Among those who underwent the tests was Sinulog Foundation Inc. executive director Ricky Ballesteros.

The tests stemmed from the theft of P1.6 million in cash and valuables from the office of the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

Part of the cash was intended for the talent fees of a choreographer and the dancers that took part in the Sinulog Grand Finale last Jan. 15. Buenafe said the test results are inadmissible in court.

Charges of qualified theft were filed against security guard Roselyndo Jabagat, a security guard assigned at the CCSC administration office. Jabagat denied the charges against him. Correspondent Chito Aragon
