Huge cracks appear in Bohol village amid rains

TAGBILARAN CITY –– Huge cracks appeared in the mountain barangay of Jagna town amid continuous rains since Oct. 3.
Adonis John Cagas, administrative and training officer of the Jagna disaster office, said the cracks have a length of more than 100 meters and a depth of seven centimeters.
“We advised the residents near the danger zone to be alert and vigilant at all times,” he said.
Cagas said the land cracks first appeared in September 2015 in the area.
Apart from the cracks, landslides also occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 8 in Purok 1 in Sitio Taytay in Barangay Cantuyoc.
The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee is to monitor the situation.
