4 elderly women die when truck rams store in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD CITY –– Four elderly women were killed after a pick-up truck rammed a store in Barangay Bae, Jimalalud town in Negros Oriental about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lydia Garsula, 80; Herminilda Gantalao, 76; Milagros Garsula, 82; and Remedios Fabillar, 65, were taking coffee at the mini-store when the pick-up truck crashed into them, said Police Col. Bryant Demot, acting Negros Oriental provincial director.

The victims were rushed to two hospitals, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.

The driver of the pick-up truck, Robert Go Lim, 62, was also brought to the ACE Medical Doctors in Dumaguete City for treatment.
