MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army commissioned on Tuesday two more training helicopters for its aviation unit as part of plans to field 16 new pilots for rapid response and ground support operations.
Army chief Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana led the commissioning of two donated R44 Raven light training helicopters to further boost the capability of the Aviation “Hiraya” regiment based in Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.
The rotary aircraft will be used in the education of pilot students of the unit.
