MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Tuesday suggested workers of state-run Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC-13) to write their grievances to President Rodrigo Duterte’s office if they want an investigation over alleged mismanagement.
“Kung ang unyon po ay gustong mag-imbestiga ang Office of the President eh lumiham po kayo nang diretso sa Office of the President at makakarating naman po ang liham ninyo sa Presidential Management Staff,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in an online briefing.
(If the union wants the Office of the President to investigate, they should write a letter to the office and your letter will go straight to the Presidential Management Staff.)
Roque was sought for comment on IBC-13 employees’ allegation of the network’s mismanagement and corruption.
In a statement Monday, IBC Employees Union president Alberto Libo-on alleged that the television network failed to raise its workers’ salaries since 2008 despite a bargaining agreement.
IBC is under the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar has yet to respond to INQUIRER.net’s queries on the matter. [ac]
