PH’s COVID-19 count now at 326,833
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s total number of COVID-19 cases reached 326,833 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported an additional 2,093 newly-reported infections on Tuesday.
The DOH count showed that this increase brought the number of patients with active coronavirus cases to 47,655.
Of which, 85.6% have mild symptoms, 9.5% are asymptomatic, 1.6% experience severe symptoms, and 3.4% are in critical condition.
The bulk of the new COVID-19 cases comes from Metro Manila with 557, followed by Cavite (253), Iloilo (166), Bulacan (124), and Batangas (118).
There are 209 new recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 231,373.
Article continues after this advertisementHowever, 25 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 5,091.
Article continues after this advertisementThe DOH also noted that 22 duplicate cases were removed from the total case count after validation of data sent by the testing laboratories. Of these, 11 were recovered cases.
Moreover, 8 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
