Northern Samar town has 1st case of COVID-19

TACLOBAN CITY –– A town in Northern Samar registered its first case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Department of Health in Eastern Visayas said a 32-year-old woman from the municipality of Laoang tested positive for the virus and was confined in a private hospital.

Only three of the 24 towns in Northern Samar remain free from the disease.

These are the island towns of San Vicente, San Antonio, and Biri, which is known for its stunning rock formations.

Eastern Visayas has 4,930 COVID-19 cases as of Monday.
