911 hotline operational again after lockdown

/ 05:22 AM October 01, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The government’s Emergency 911 Hotline is now fully operational after it was shut down when several of its call agents contracted COVID-19, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said on Wednesday after angry Filipinos complained on social media that the hotline was unresponsive to emergency calls.

The hotline was shut down in August after at least five call agents got infected with the new coronavirus.
