Northern Luzon, Cagayan Valley may experience rains due to LPA’s trough

MANILA, Philippines — Rains may cool down the usually hot provinces in Cagayan Valley as the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) east of the country affects Northern Luzon, state meteorologists said on Wednesday.

According to weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), rains are expected to ease down temperatures in Tuguegarao on Wednesday which will range from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.

But for the rest of Luzon, generally fair weather is expected with a chance of cloudy skies and occasional showers by afternoon and night, due to localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and Legazpi’s daytime temperatures may peak to 33 degrees Celsius, while Puerto Princesa and Laoag may register something between 25 to 32 degrees.

Most parts of Visayas and Mindanao would also have hot and humid weather, with temperatures playing around 26 to 32 degrees Celsius in Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban, whereas highs of 33 degrees may be felt in Davao City and Zamboanga.

Pagasa said that no weather disturbance or tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country for the next three days, while the southwest monsoon is also not seen to make much of an impact on the western portions of the country. [ac]
