41 new patients have COVID-19 in Eastern Visayas, bringing total cases to 4,591
TACLOBAN CITY –– At least 41 people in Eastern Visayas were infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, increasing its total cases to 4,591.
The Department of Health said the 41 new COVID-19 patients were from Samar province with 22 cases; Leyte province (13); and Southern Leyte, (six).
Most of the new patients were close contacts of COVID-19 patients.
In Calbayog City, Samar, the Calbayog District Hospital announced that due to the infection of its personnel, its services to the public would be “temporarily limited” starting Monday, Sept.28, and until further notice.
Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, meanwhile, pledged to provide P5,000 cash assistance to each COVID-19 survivor.
Catbalogan City Mayor Dexter Uy said they were grateful to Go, who also promised to finance a temporary isolation facility located in Barangay Payao in the said city.
