MANILA, Philippines — Four persons of interest (POIs) have been tagged in the September 27 killing of a nursing student and two nursing graduates in Caloocan, police said Tuesday.
In a press conference at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, Northern Police District (NPD) chief Ronnie Ylagan identified the POIs as construction workers Anselmo Singcol, Adonis Singcol, Alden Singcol, and Dingding Sarmiento. It was not immediately established by police how the Singcols were related.
Ylagan said Anselmo Singcol was a stay-in construction worker who went missing after the incident.
“Anselmo Singcol alias Kalbo, siya yung stay-in sa construction site but nawawala po siya after nung incident,” Ylagan said.

Meanwhile, Ylagan said Alden and Adonis, relatives of Anselmo, already went to Caloocan police to give their statements regarding the stabbing incident.
“Adonis Singcol and Alden Singcol, kamag-anak po nung nawawala. Kahapon po ay pumunta na sila (Alden and Adonis) ng police station at naglagay ng statements,” he said.

Ylagan said Sarmiento was fired from the construction site two weeks ago and is currently residing in Cavite.
He also noted that Sarmiento “is willing to show himself to authorities and give a statement.”
Ylagan said they also recovered a kitchen knife and a floor mat with blood stains at the barracks of Anselmo.
“‘Yung kitchen knife and floor mat with bloodstains na-recover sa barracks ni Anselmo Singcol, yung nawawala,” he said.

On Sunday, Sept. 29, barangay officials discovered the bodies of 22-year-old nursing student Arjay Belencio and nursing graduates Glydyl Belonio, 28, and Mona Habibolla, 22, inside a house, which is still under construction, at the Amparo Subdivision.
Police said barangay officials responded to the incident after the victims failed to answer their cellphones when their kin called them up.
