Bulacan judge dies of COVID-19

CITY OF MALOLOS –– A judge in this city had died of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while five court employees had tested positive for the virus, authorities said.

Judge Mario Capellan, 64, of City of Malolos Trial Court Branch 1, died due to infections secondary to diabetes on Sept. 17, sources from the City of Malolos Health office said on Monday.

The judge, who lived in Quezon city, started experiencing breathing difficulty on Sept. 2 and was later confined at a hospital in Metro Manila.

The virus-infected employees of the same court branch had ended their 14-day quarantine period and were just waiting for clearance to return to work.

Branch 1 has been locked down from September 4-18 and has resumed operations with a limited workforce.
