Work hours in gov’t shortened on Sept 28 for Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang shortened work hours in government offices under the executive branch on Monday to allow employees to celebrate the Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.
Work hours will be suspended by 3:30 p.m., according to a memorandum circular issued by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Medialdea also encouraged other branches of government, independent commissions or bodies, and the private sector to do the same.
But agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue their operations.
According to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day is aimed at encouraging parents “to frequently eat dinner with their children and be involved in their children’s lives.”
