Eastern Visayas records 91 new COVID-19 cases
TACLOBAN CITY – At least 91 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were recorded in Eastern Visayas on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the region to 4,541.
The new cases were from Leyte with 57 cases; Samar, 33, and Biliran, 1.
The Our Lady of Porziuncola Hospital in Calbayog City has temporarily stopped the operations of its emergency room and out-patient department from Sept. 24 to Sept. 28 after a doctor tested positive for COVID-19.
An advisory from the hospital said its laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, ultrasound, and dialysis center will continue to operate.
“To our soon-to-be patients, we would like to request to please inform us honestly about your medical condition, your travel history, and your exposure to COVID-19 patients for us to act based on the given health protocols. Please answer honestly all the questions that out triage officers require from you,” part of the advisory said.
Gov. Rogelio Espina of Biliran province also confirmed that one of their latest COVID-19 patients involved an employee of the provincial government.
