MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday said erring officials of Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will be facing the music soon because the government has zero tolerance for corruption.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the Task Force PhilHealth was finalizing administrative and criminal cases against the officials, to be filed before the proper venue.
“There is no letup in our drive to make erring officials of the Philhealth accountable for their misdeeds,” Roque said in a statement.
He added: “Zero tolerance against corruption is not just a catchphrase but a serious matter in the current administration.”
The Palace official made the remarks after the hashtag, “Wag kalimutan yung binulsang P15B sa PhilHealth Challenge,” trended on Facebook.
On Sept. 14, the Department of Justice submitted to President Duterte the task force’s findings on allegations of corruption in PhilHealth.
