With 1,000 new cases in just a week, Bulacan’s COVID-19 tally reaches 5,000

CITY OF MALOLOS–At least 1,000 cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bulacan were recorded in a week, raising the province’s tally to 5,171 as of Thursday (Sept. 24), officials said.

Most of the cases came from the City of San Jose del Monte, which now has 1,214 COVID-19 patients to date. But 968 of these cases were recoveries.

The province’s remaining 3,947 COVID-19 cases were listed in the other towns and cities.

A total of 1,846 of these cases were active.

But patients who recovered from the disease have already reached 3,077 while deaths were 96, records from the provincial health office showed

In this city, the maternity ward of the Bulacan Medical Center has stopped accepting patients after some of the women confined there tested positive for the virus.

The infected mothers and their babies were transferred to other treatment and isolation facilities.
