COVID-19 hits 2,180 more; PH total count now at 296,755
MANILA, Philippines — The new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infected 2,180 more individuals in the Philippines, raising the nation’s total caseload to 296,755 on Thursday, September 24.
The Department of Health (DOH) said that 59,700 of the sum are active cases while 231,928 are recoveries, including the newly-recovered 580 patients. Also, DOH said another 36 died of the disease boosting the number of deaths to 5,127.
Further, the health agency reported that a result of its final validation has shown 16 duplicate cases, which were consequently deleted from its COVID-19 statistics. Of these discovered duplicate cases, seven were erroneously tagged as recoveries.
