PP XI to feature knockout artists in co-main event

A PAIR of knock out sensations will be featured in the highly anticipated Pinoy Pride XI: Philippines vs the World card this Saturday at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Filipino Lorenzo Villanueva will battle Mexican banger Diego “Tyson” Ledesma in the supporting main event as they continue the boxing rivalry of the two countries.

The unbeaten Villanueva will enter the ring armed with an amazing record of 20 wins all by knockout while the Mexican Ledesma who is nicknamed “Tyson” is confident his skills and high knockout percentage will be enough to merit a KO win over the Filipino.

Ledesma of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico will arrive in Cebu today with his team and fellow Mexican Juan Esquer. Esquer will be fighting Filipino WBO Intercontinental flyweight king Milan “El Metodico” Melindo. They will be presented to the media at 12 noon at the Maya Mexican Restaurant at the Crossroads in Banilad.

The Mexican duo will then join the rest of Team World at the SM City Cebu Entertainment Center at 5 p.m. of the same day for a public workout.

Other up and coming Filipino fighters who will be representing the Philippines in this exciting event include Mhar Jhun “Astig” Macahilig against Thai veteran Kaichon Sor Vorapin, OPBF champion Merlito “Tiger” Sabillo vs. Indonesia’s Sofyan Effendi and Joseph Von Minoza going up against Yoo Shin Kim of Korea. This will be the first time these three Filipinos will be fighting foreign opponents.
