106-year-old woman beats COVID-19

A 106-year-old woman has survived COVID-19 after receiving treatment in a facility in Maharashtra, India, for 10 days.
Dr. Rahul Ghule announced Anandibai Patil’s recovery on his Twitter page last Sunday, Sept. 20.

Patil contracted the coronavirus alongside her daughter-in-law after experiencing symptoms, as per Hindustan Times on the same day.
Her daughter-in-law had suffered a cold and fever, but the centenarian developed worse symptoms. The daughter-in-law said that Patil could “not even move or walk” before getting tested.
After learning that they contracted the disease, many private hospitals refused to admit Patil due to her age. It was only after around five hours that she was finally admitted to Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation’s (KDMC) COVID-19 center.
Patil stayed in the facility for 10 days until she made a full recovery and was discharged.
“She danced with joy while she was seated on the chair,” her daughter-in-law was quoted as saying.
Dr. Ghule also stated that Patil is a “positive person and responded well during treatment.”
“Considering her age, she was at high risk, and we took extra precautions and care,” he said in the report. “She recovered in just ten days.
Following Dr. Ghule’s post of her recovery, Maharashtra cabinet minister Aditya Thackeray praised him and his team for their work.
“The blessings of Mrs. Anandibai Patil ji and many more like her keep us all going strong!” the minister said on his Twitter page.
